The Rural Center for AIDS/STD Prevention celebrated its 20th anniversary with an address and award dinner in the Tudor Room of the Indiana Memorial Union, April 17, 2014. David Satcher, MD, PhD, 16th U.S. Surgeon General, was the featured speaker and was awarded the Ryan White Distinguished Leadership Award by RCAP senior director, William L. Yarber, and Jeanne White Ginder, Ryan’s mother. Nearly 100 community, government and academic health professionals and students attended the gala dinner including dignitaries such as the Indiana State Health Commissioner, Executive Director of the Indiana Public Health Association, President and CEO of Indiana University Health Bloomington, the Vice Provost for Graduate Education & Health Sciences and Associate Dean of the University Graduate School, and the Vice President of Planning and Program Development of the Indiana Minority Health Coalition.
